The
C Scow is a very maneuverable cat-rigged scow that began sailing back
in 1905. Over the years, the superior design has changed only slightly.
The C Scow performs well in a broad range of winds and is particularly
fast in light air. A crew of two is typical, but a third person is
needed when the wind is up. Supported by a strong national association,
the National C Scow
Sailing Association (NCSSA), the fleet has always been one of
the most popular scows. Active fleets are located throughout the Upper
Midwest, from Canada to Texas and as far west as California. |
