The
X Boat is a hard-chined, pointed bow, center-board boat whose design
makes it a safe training boat for younger sailors. Many sailors in
the Upper Midwest got their start in the X fleet. It is the only non-scow
design that is governed by the Inland
Lake Yachting Association (ILYA). It is raced by girls and boys
up to 16 years of age although at one time White Bear had a strong
fleet of Adult X racers. The class drew over 130 participants to White
Bear Lake for the 2000 Championship Regatta. |
