       WBYC is the host for the 2011 Opti Championship Regatta

Despite some rumors you may have heard, White Bear Lake has plenty of water to accomodate this event. Recent rains have brought the lake up a foot or more and we expect to have great conditions for racing. Don't miss it - We have a great program planned for you.

The fun begins at WBYC on Sunday, July 31st with Registration & Safety Check from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Competitors' Briefings will be held Monday morning, Aug. 1 at 9:00 a.m. for the Red, White, Blue Fleet and at 9:30 a.m. for the Green Fleet.

Lunches
Lunches for sailors are included in registration. All other lunches may be purchased for $8. Per day.

  • Monday lunch - Subway type sandwiches, chips, Water – served on the water for RWB sailors, Green fleet will come in for a break.
  • Tuesday lunch – Hot Dogs & Hamburgers off the grill, Chips, water

Kid’s Party
Monday night at White Bear Country Inn - $15.00 per sailor, purchase at registration

  • Pasta dinner, salad, drinks
  • Swimming in the pool
  • Wii Tournament
  • Movies

Adult Networking Social
Adults may order off a limited menu at the Kid's party or just eat at Rudy’s Redeye Grill right at the hotel. No adult tickets will be sold.

Racing
Races will get und
erway with the First Race Warning Signal for the Red White and Blue Fleets at10:00 a.m. and for the Green Fleet at 10:30 a.m. Subsequent races are at the discretion of the Race Officers with the following provisions:

Red White and Blue Fleets: Eight races are scheduled, of which one must be completed to constitute a regatta. Except when races are sailed back-to-back, the time of the warning signal for subsequent races will be posted. If one race is completed, no warning signal will be made after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2. In any case, no warning signal will be made after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2.

Green Fleet: Six races are scheduled for the Green Fleet, of which one must be completed to constitute a regatta.. Except when races are sailed back-to-back, the time of the warning signal for subsequent races will be posted. If one race is completed, no warning signal will be made after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2. In any case, no warning signal will be made after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2.
