The International Sailing Federation awarded the Laser Olympic status because this is a challenging boat that rewards athleticism, subtle steering and trimming techniques and tactical excellence. The hull shape, blades, and rig combine to create a great racing machine. The International Laser Class works in conjunction with the North American Regional office to provide top-flight racing events for sailors of all ages and skill levels from the local club level to the national level and even on to the world and Olympic level. There are more than 1000 Laser events to choose from each year.
