Catamarans have been called the ultimate sailing machine for the sheer thrill of their speed. Although the first multi-hull was introduced in the mid-1600's it wasn't until 1967, when Hobie Alter designed the Hobie 14 Catamaran that the design revolutionized the sailing world. Today, there are almost as many Cat designs as there are bodies of water in the world and the WBYC fleet allows a variety of designs to compete. |
